Chronic Pain/Addiction Services

In the last decade the United States has seen an increase in Opioid addiction due to the need for those suffering with chronic pain seeking relief.  Research has noted the Opioid medications commonly prescribed, such as Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are known to diminish the pain; however, with chronic use of these medicines the body’s tolerance will increase creating the need to increase the dosage in order to maintain its effectiveness—this cycle can lead to addictive behaviors.

Consequently, many individuals are asking, “Is there a healthier and less addictive way to get rid of this agonizing feeling.”

At Behavioral Health & Family Services, we have discovered that the utilization of effective coping mechanisms integrated with counseling (psychotherapy), medication management and biofeedback appear to be healthier ways of managing addiction and pain.
